My four children operate Palmetto Carriage Works, along with their four spouses and, yes, two of my eight grandchildren are employed, making this a third-generation business. They have 60-plus employees.
Their income depends on this industry, with few elected politicians or the average citizen knowing anything about the economic impact, the animals they care for, the families who care for them, or the revenue from taxes that these businesses contribute to the City of Charleston.
So show some support and balance to this issue that is critical to so many.
