Charleston by Carriage

We just celebrated our 22nd Anniversary and of course went to Charleston SC. We love Charleston. We decided to take another carriage ride as we do so each year. Dana was our guide and the horse was Abba something. They were fantastic. I have to say this was the BEST ride ever. I recommend it to all who travel to Charleston. There are a lot of carriage rides in Charleston but this one is worth trying! Our tour guide Monica was the best! She was funny and very informative! I would definitely recommend her! The ride itself was beautiful. We rode by the water for a bit. We also got to see a lot of the historic houses and Rainbow Row. It was very peaceful and I really enjoyed it. We so enjoyed the ride through the quaint, narrow streets of Charleston led by our skilled & knowledgeable driver. His explanations of the history of the city were peppered with just enough humor to keep us laughing. The carriage horses & mules are well-cared for so if you have any worries about that, you can put them aside and rest in the knowledge that these are happy animals. Palmetto Carriage Works is a great company, with an exceptional staff. The guide that we had was Bubba and his horse was MIllhouse, it was a private carriage. Bubba was a great guide and very informative. It was my daughter's first time on a carriage and she really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this company for their carriage tours. — William M.
