Apache The Horse Retires

One of our Palmetto Carriage Company veterans, Apache, retired to a farm in Lexington, SC earlier this week. Apache came to us after working on a farm in Tennessee, and for the last 12 years, Apache has been a customer and an employee favorite. He even appeared as an extra for the television show Reckless!

Apache will be joining his long-time friend and partner, Sissy, who retired to the same farm last November. During their time here at the Big Red Barn, Apache and Sissy were an inseparable pair.

They often pulled carriages together and shared a stall at The Big Red Barn. On days they both worked on private carriages and passed each other, people noticed that they would call out to each other as if saying hello.

We will miss Apache but are happy to see him reunited with his “true love” Sissy, and wish them both a happy retirement on the farm!
